Magenta Willow
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 52 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has several long and flexible, wonky stems covered in delicate, silky, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.
The branches are long, thin and wispy with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, wispy, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are gray with magenta tips, rigid and sticky.
It produces dozens of small, gentle green flowers with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a powerful scent that smells like candle wax. In midwinter it forms largegold, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
It is frequently struck by lightning.
It is suitable for making strong rope
