Indigo
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This large shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 14 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has numerous narrow, straight stems covered in silky, yellow-brown bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.
The branches are long, thin and wispy with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of small, very narrow and elongated, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in cream, purple and peach varieties, tough and leathery.
It produces lots of small, indigo flowers with wide petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like warm cookies. In early autumn it forms medium-sizedbrilliant red, shelled seeds.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
