Slate Moss

This slate and orange-yellow moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is slightly durable.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores.
