Violetheart Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 75 feet (22.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 74 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, angular trunk covered in thick, waxy, gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The small handful of branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of large, long, tapering leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are florescent purple and copper.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of tiny, aquamarine blossoms with 7 heart-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a powerful scent that smells like coconut.

In early autumn it produces , pentagon-shaped fruit. The clammy grey skin is stretchy and sour, and the very soft pink flesh is bitter and dry. The yellow seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
