Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This large bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 90 feet (27.4 meters) and growing as high as 16 feet (4.9 meters).
It takes 5 years for the moss green stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 11 inches (28 cm) and are tough and woody.
The very narrow and elongated, crispy leaves reach up to 2.8 feet (84 cm) in length. They are lilac and cyan, and have smooth edges.
During late spring, the bine produces handfuls of large black flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces excessive amounts of tiny fruits.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The trunk and branches are covered in large spikes.
