Bronzeberry
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 36 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a very thick, angular trunk covered in thin, rough, yellow bark, and inside, the light wood is white.
The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of large, sickle shaped leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either dark brown, or silver with beige zig-zags.
In early spring, it produces copious amounts of large, bronze blossoms with 6 flame-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have an intense scent that smells like bleach.
In early winter it produces , oval fruit. The rough aquamarine skin is thin and inedible, and the soft silver flesh is bitter and sour and juicy. The dark grey seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.
The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
