Turquoise
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This big fruit tree grows up to 31 feet (9.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 17 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in thin, cracked, light gray bark, and inside, the soft wood is pine-coloured.
The excessive amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with handfuls of small, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are orange-yellow with black tips.
In early spring, it produces thousands of medium-sized, turquoise blossoms with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have an intense scent that smells like old books.
In mid-summer it produces very large, oblong fruit. The crispy gold skin is tough and salty, and the very soft silver flesh is overwhelmingly salty and juicy. The olive seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
