Turquoise Cube Flower

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its green stem is very thin, and the tiny, burgundy leaves are pleated with tattered edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Hundreds of medium-sized flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are beige at the sides and turquoise at the center. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of 13 raised, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like burning wood, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
