Spiny Orangeleaf
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This average-sized leaf succulent grows up to 59 feet (18.0 meters) tall. The wide stem is green, and is covered in many fine, brilliant orange, hair-like spines. The toothed-edged, pleated leaves are either light brown, or cyan with intense orange splotches. Small bunches of them grow from the base in alternating pairs. The leaves are flimsy, and easily come away when pulled.
It is fast growing, taking 7 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with each petal a slightly different shade of pink, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 48 curved petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like wet dog.
The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the red flesh is rough, and the azure sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
It comes in 8 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It can survive a very long time without water.
