Waterlily Sunflower

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This giant flower grows up to 10.8 feet (3.3 meters) tall. Its lime green stem is thin, and the miniature, green leaves are light moss green on the underside and are stiff, pointed with rounded edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 46 cm (18.1 inches) wide, with alternating petals of green and copper, with an intense orange central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 petals. They fall easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like damp, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
