Thickstem Waterlily

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big flower grows up to 4.4 feet (1.3 meters) tall. Its emerald stems grow in bunches of 4 and are very thick and straight, and the giant, gray and emerald leaves are needle-like with serrated edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 65 cm (25.6 inches) wide, with petals that are either lilac or magenta, with a yellow center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 petals. They are very delicate.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like a woman, and it has very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
