Silverbloom
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This massive shrub grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 148 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has many long and flexible, angular stems covered in fine, smooth, silver bark, and the wood inside is gray.
The branches are short and slender with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, very thin, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are turquoise and azure, resistant and rough.
In mid-summer it produces thick bunches of large, caramel blossoms with 4 oblong shaped petals. They fall easily and have a powerful scent that smells like roses.
In late autumn finger-like fruits ripen. The fuzzy amber skin is delicate and edible when cooked; it is salty, and the crunchy orange flesh is bitter and sticky. The light grey seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.
It is suitable for making paper
It actively smothers and kills off other plants.
