Golden Splitcrown

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This large cactus grows up to 92 feet (28.0 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 3 stiff, pointed stems. Each stem is orange, and is covered in lots of fine, gold, hair-like spines. The spherical body is yellow, and is covered in sharp spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 20 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are either lilac or indigo, with a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 58 raised, narrow petals. It has an intense scent that smells like pine needles.

The cactus's skin is very thick, the magenta flesh is soft, and the blue sap is thin.

The stems are covered in large spikes.
It is suitable for making strong rope
