Silver Fanflower
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)This large flower grows up to 2.7 feet (81 cm) tall. Its silver stem is very thin and splits into 7 branching stems at the top, and the giant, caramel leaves are fan-like with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.
A single large flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 66 cm (26.0 inches) wide, with petals that are cream on the underside and purple on the top. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 39 raised, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.
It has a delicate scent that smells like cotton, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
