Mountain Emerald Moss

This peach or grey moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In rainy mountain ranges.
It is big, growing up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is slightly light.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores.
