Violetbell

Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This enormous flower grows up to 16.4 feet (5.0 meters) tall. Its orange stem is very thick and splits into 8 branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the tiny, white leaves are grey on the underside and are slender, pointed with wavy edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

3 to 7 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 123 cm (48.4 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of violet. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 41 curved petals. They fall easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like coconut, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator.


It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It can survive a long time without water.
