Aquamarine Succulent
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This short leaf succulent grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The finger-like stem is orange, and is covered in brittle pastel yellow spines. The stumpy leaves are aquamarine on the sides and bronze at the center. Small amounts of them grow on thick, emerald branches that are tall, rigid and upright. The leaves are delicate, but take little effort to detach.
It is very slow growing, taking 25 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are white on the edges and blue at the center, grow at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet with 28 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like rainy days.
The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the green flesh is smooth, and the crimson sap is thin.
