Violetcling
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized tree grows up to 16 meters (52.5 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 285 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in fine, knobbly, light gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is black with white speckles.
The branches are very short and thick and are covered with sparse amounts of smooth, tiny, perforated leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are generally violet.
In early spring, it produces handfuls of large, cyan blossoms with finger-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like new carpet.
In late summer it forms large, indigo aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
