Blackvine

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 80 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in thick, cracked, black bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pine-coloured.

The abundance of branches are short stubs and are covered with sparse amounts of smooth, small, broad, flat leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are dark brown and brown.

In late summer it forms small, hazel, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
