Burgundy Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This enormous tree grows up to 95 meters (311.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 257 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, crooked trunk covered in very thick, wrinkled, black bark, and inside, the soft wood is burgundy.

The excessive amount of branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with thick bunches of sticky, small, spear shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are peach on the edges and green at the center.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, gentle red, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
