Copperbell

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its copper stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 7 and are thin and straight, and split into several branching stems at the top, and the large, orange leaves are broad, flat with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

2 to 4 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 8 cm (3.1 inches) wide, with subtle purple petals on the lower layer and blood red petals decorated with lilac dots on the inner layer. The central disk is silver. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They fall easily.

It has no scent, and it has very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
