Bronze
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) tall. Its green stem is thick and straight, and the small, lime green and orange-yellow leaves are wide with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
Two giant flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 36 cm (14.2 inches) wide, with petals that are either dark brown or bronze, with a yellow center. The flower head is largely flat with many raised narrow petals. They detach easily.
It has a delicate scent that smells like skunk spray, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
It actively smothers and kills off other plants.
It is suitable for making strong rope
