Blueleaf Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 153 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, twisting trunk covered in fine, waxy, brown-green bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow-brown.

The large clumps of branches are long and thick and are covered with small amounts of soft, large, very thin leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are blue on the sides and brown at the center.

In early spring, it produces lots of medium-sized, dark grey blossoms with broad, flat petals. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like cinnamon.

In late summer it forms giant, grey, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
