Ashy Orange Petal Bloom

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This big flower grows up to 5.4 feet (1.7 meters) tall. Its light grey or white stem is wispy and splits into many branching stems at the top, and the huge, gray-green leaves are light ashy orange on the underside and are very narrow and elongated with toothed edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 42 cm (16.5 inches) wide, with solid ashy orange petals decorated with aquamarine lines and a beige central disk. The flower head is shaped like a sphere with 18 raised, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like vanilla, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by a small species of bird.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
