Copperwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1540 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, angular trunk covered in fine, waxy, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is copper-coloured.

The thick clumps of branches trail down to the ground, with dozens of twigs covered with large amounts of giant, gray needles. The needles themselves are resilient.

In late summer it produces small, olive, shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
