Silverfern

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 576 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wavy trunk covered in smooth, brown-green bark, and inside, the hard wood is white.

The excessive amount of branches are very long and thin and are covered with small amounts of smooth, giant, stiff, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of silver that gradient shifts to red at the top.

In early spring, it produces several giant, orange blossoms with finger-like petals. They fall easily and have a faint scent that smells like pine needles.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, crimson, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
