Copper

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 490 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in delicate, waxy, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is dark brown.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with large amounts of fuzzy, miniature, wispy leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are either cream or lime, with lilac edges.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, gold, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.

A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
