Azurefern
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This big tree grows up to 61 meters (200.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 425 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in thick, ridged, dark brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is pale yellow.
The small bunches of branches are very short and thin and are covered with large amounts of crispy, giant, thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are azure on the sides and gold at the center.
In early spring, it produces large amounts of giant, drab purple blossoms with long, tapering petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like pot-purri.
In late summer it forms giant, cyan berries.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
