Copperwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in rough, black bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow.

The thin clumps of branches trail down to the ground, with dozens of twigs covered with large amounts of large, copper needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.

In late summer it produces small, brown, shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

The leaves are bland but very healthy.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
