Bronze Pine
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)This average-sized tree grows up to 59 meters (193.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 401 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in delicate, waxy, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very hard wood is copper-coloured.
The branches trail down towards the ground, with thousands of twigs covered with copious amounts of giant, bronze needles. The needles themselves are rigid.
In late summer it produces large, brown aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
