Copperfern
Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This large tree grows up to 72 meters (236.2 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1753 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in delicate, rough, black bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pale brown.
The tangled mess of branches trail down to the ground, covered with large amounts of miniature, copper needles. The needles themselves are durable.
In late summer it produces tiny, bronze, spiky-shelled seeds.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
