Silverleaf Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 139 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, ridged, silver bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale yellow.
The thin clumps of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with very large amounts of leathery, tiny, 4 pointed leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are azure on the sides and pink at the center.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, intense yellow, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
The seeds are toxic to people but not to certain animals.
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
