Copperbark

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 170 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in rough, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is burgundy-brown.

The tangled mess of branches are long and thin and are covered with thick bunches of covered in fine hairs, huge, 4 pointed leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either blue, or blood red with bright green splotches.

In late summer it forms tiny, black, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
