Violet Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The pleated stem is gray-green, and is covered in handfuls of rigid sky blue spines. The serrated-edged, fan-like leaves are either violet, or cyan with peach dots. Handfuls of them grow from the base like blades of grass. The leaves are frail, but take some effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with vivid purple petals on the lower layer and pink petals decorated with light brown dots on the inner layer. The central disk is muted yellow, grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has no scent.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the olive flesh is sticky, and the cream sap is thin.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
