Crimsonvine

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its red stem is wispy, and the miniature, orange leaves are light dark grey and caramel on the underside and are very thick with ripped edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Each stem splits 2 to 6 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide, with lilac petals and a crimson central disk. The flower head is largely flat with 15 widely spaced round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has a powerful scent that smells like faeces, and it has lots of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
