Emerald Moorland Moss

This gray-green moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On rotten logs, and In moorlands.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is very delicate; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores.
