Copper-colored

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 34 meters (111.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 504 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, wavy trunk covered in fine, rough, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the very dense wood is copper-coloured.

The sparse amount of branches are short and thin and are covered with small bunches of rough, giant, spear shaped leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid turquoise or red, with drab orange streaks.

In late summer it forms giant, crimson seed pods.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
