Crimson Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 662 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in very thick, knobbly, black bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow.
The branches are very short and slender and are covered with small amounts of leathery, small, long, tapering leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid deep red or silver, with sky blue streaks.
In late summer it forms giant, faded orange, tough-shelled seeds.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
