Copperwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This large tree grows up to 61 meters (200.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 662 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in thin, ridged, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the dense wood is copper-coloured.

The sparse amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of sticky, miniature, needle-like leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of yellow-green that gradient shifts to violet at the top.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, dark grey blossoms with perforated petals. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like rich perfume.

In late summer it forms tiny, dark grey seed pods.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
