Magenta
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in smooth, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the hard wood is silver.
The abundance of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of small, very thin leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are magenta and turquoise.
In early spring, it produces a handful of small, crimson blossoms with oval-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like roses.
In late summer it produces very large, spherical fruit. The smooth violet skin is stretchy and edible when boiled; it is overwhelmingly spicy, and the very soft lilac flesh is sweet and powdery. The silver seeds are tiny and are bunched at the top of the fruit.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
