Copperfern
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)This large tree grows up to 75 meters (246.1 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2361 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a branched, straight trunk covered in delicate, silky, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white with black speckles.
The branches are long and thin, with hundreds of twigs covered with very large amounts of tiny, yellow needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.
In late summer it produces small, light brown berries.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
