Browncone

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows, flowers and dies within one year)

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a slender, wonky trunk covered in very thick, wrinkled, brown and grey bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow.

The branches trail down across the ground, with hundreds of twigs covered with handfuls of huge, brown needles. The needles themselves are frail.

In late summer it produces tiny, intense yellow, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for making paper
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
