Black Tuft Grass

Grass type: Annual (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized, lime green grass grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The very thin stalks grow in sparse patches that are robust.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, black tuft.

During the late summer, it produces a modest amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a few medium-sized grains.

It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It can flourish even in standing water.
