Indigo vine
Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This large bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 238 feet (72.5 meters) and growing as high as 148 feet (45.1 meters).
It takes 12 months for the silver stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 11 inches (28 cm) and are rough and fibrous.
The very thin, smooth leaves reach up to 2.6 feet (79 cm) in length. They are indigo on the edges and red at the center, and have irregular edges.
During late spring, the bine produces a thick sheet of tiny yellow flowers.
The pollen is very toxic to people but not to certain animals.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
