Caramel Petal

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its orange stem is thick and straight, and the miniature, yellow-green leaves are pleated with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 6 to 9 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are generally caramel; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is largely flat with 6 widely spaced narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a weak scent that smells like honeysuckle, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
