Bronze Starflower

This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its green stems grow in bunches of 8 and are very thick and straight, and the small, light brown and moss green leaves are pleated with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 19 cm (7.5 inches) wide, with petals that are bronze in the center, yellow in the middle and violet at the edges. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of 10 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has the faintest scent that smells like leather, and it has lots of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.
