Giant Creeper Fern

This massive creeper is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 1,885 feet (574.5 meters) and growing as high as 822 feet (250.5 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 14 years for the moss green stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 2.3 feet (69 cm) and are rough and woody.

The stiff, pointed, fuzzy leaves reach up to 3.8 feet (1.2 meters) in length. They are pink and slate, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces many bunches of average slate flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces a few tiny seed pods.
