Bloodfire
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This small flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its muted red and blood red stem is thick and splits into several branching stems at the base, and the miniature, orange-yellow leaves are finger-like with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.
Each stem splits 4 to 7 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with petals that are orange on the edges and grey at the center. The flower head is shaped like a sphere with 38 tightly layered, narrow petals. They are sturdy.
It has the faintest scent that smells like vomit, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
