Copperflower
Flower type: Biennial (Sheds its leaves in winter)This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is thick, and the small, copper leaves are wide with ripped edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
Dozens of large flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 7 cm (2.8 inches) wide, with solid peach petals decorated with aquamarine lines and a olive central disk. The flower head is largely flat with 58 tightly layered narrow petals. They are sturdy.
It has a powerful scent that smells like rotten meat, and it has lots of pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
