Black Creeper

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 27 feet (8.2 meters) and growing as high as 42 feet (12.8 meters).

It takes 2 years for the gray stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are smooth and rubbery.

The asymmetrical, smooth leaves reach up to 10 inches (25 cm) in length. They are black at the bottom and bold green with light grey lines at the top, and have irregular edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces copious amounts of giant brown flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces lots of large berries.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
